Harvest Moon Dinner at Hillside Supper Club

Thursday, Sept 19th, 2014 at 7:30 PM

Every month's full moon has its own seasonal name. The full moon closest to the autumnal equinox, typically in September, is called the Harvest Moon. During this time of the year there was so much farm work to do picking crops that the farmhands would work in the fields at night by the light of the full moon in order to get it all done. This same full moon was also referred to as the Barley Moon in some regions because the barley crop had to be threshed and harvested, too. With their pick of the season's fresh barley, the original farmhouse brewers made their top quality farmhouse beers to stock away for when the weather warmed up again.

It is in this spirit that Chris Cohen of Old Devil Moon Beer Productions & Certified Cicerone, and Bernal Heights' Hillside Supper Club, are joining forces to bring you the Harvest Moon Beer Dinner on Sept 19th.

Come celebrate the harvest with fresh-from-the-farmer's-market creations by Tony Ferreri and Jonathan Sutton, the chef-owners of the Hillside Supper Club, beautifully paired with fine and rare ales selected by Certified Cicerone Chris Cohen. The meal consists of an amuse bouche and four courses, each with its own beer pairing. The beer includes selections from Sante Adairius Rustic Ales in Capitola, Almanac Beer Company and Anchor Brewing of San Francisco, and Craftsman Brewing Company out of Pasadena.

To keep this dinner intimate, there are only 50 seats available at $80 each (that includes tax and tip). It's a meal you won't forget, don't wait to grab tickets using the Paypal link below!
